Daniel Patterson is on your side

Economy and Jobs

I'm always working to improve jobs and the economy to promote economic prosperity and encourage business in my district and Tucson. At the capitol I am a friend of business and the forgotten middle-class. We must build a prosperous economy that rewards hard work, not just CEOs, corporations and the rich. I am endorsed by Labor and the pro-business Arizona Technology Council.

Water, Energy & Environment

I serve on the House Water and Energy Committee and lead by example by harvesting rainwater and producing solar power and hot water at my home. I fight for clean air and water. I support true energy independence by helping people go solar and use small wind power. As an ecologist and hunter, I'm a champion for wildlife. I have an 'A' environmental voting record winning the backing of Arizona League of Conservation Voters and Sierra Club-Grand Canyon Chapter.

Local Control

I favor local control. The state must better respect local city and county rights, and stop blocking local governments from protecting citizens. The Arizona League of Cities and Towns has twice awarded me as a 'friend'.

Public Safety

As a southside Tucson neighborhood President, I worked with police for years to successfully reduce crime. I am endorsed by the Arizona Fraternal Order of Police. I served on the Arizona House Military Affairs and Public Safety Committee.

Equal Rights and Civil Liberties

The state must respect and protect the rights of all, including the LGBT community. I support policies aimed at stopping racism, sexism and other discrimination. Arizona should always respect the Bill of Rights, protect privacy rights and responsible individual freedoms. I'm a proud gun owner who's earned a NRA 'B' rating.

Border and Immigration

I'm pushing the federal government for tough immigration reform to secure the border and fix our broken US immigration system. Immigrants must be required to pay back taxes and a fine, learn English, and pass criminal background checks on the path to legalization.

Transportation

I ride a bike, drive an efficient biodiesel powered vehicle and support clean cars & fuels. To improve safety, we must better protect drivers, pedestrians and cyclists. I'm working with ADoT, the feds and railroad to pursue Tucson-Phoenix commuter rail. I also back a metro-Tucson rail system, from northwest-downtown-southeast, and also south to Green Valley and Nogales.

Election Integrity

We must ensure everyone eligible can register and vote without hassle, that every vote counts and we can trust the outcome of all elections.

Health Care

We must cover as many people as possible, especially at-risk children, and protect critical health care programs. I am endorsed by the Arizona Nurses Association and Arizona Hopsital and Heathcare Association.

Kids and Education

My daughter attends public school in TUSD. We must listen to teachers. I work to keep state bureaucrats out of local schools’ business. The legislature must better support community colleges and universities as a critical investment in our future. I have a 100% pro-education voting record and the endorsement of the Arizona Education Association.

Vote Daniel Patterson for Arizona - Democrat - August 2012, Arizona LD3

  • On your side.
  • Get Arizona on the right track.
  • Voice of the forgotten middle class.
  • Protect schools and children.
  • Balanced approach to improve the economy and create good paying jobs.
  • I do not support higher taxes.
  • Best qualified with a proven record of effective public service in Tucson.
  • Working for a better economy, jobs and quality of life.

Patterson's GOP opponent would serve greedy Phoenix bosses, cutting schools, ignoring the middle class and hurting our jobs and economy.

Diverse support for Rep. Patterson:

Daniel is also one of the few individuals in the community who has consistently volunteered in my fifth-grade classroom. He has facilitated many wonderful discussions on the environment and the issues of growth in Tucson and the Sonoran Desert. Daniel cares about children and the future issues they may face," says Mary C. Rogers, teacher and Tucson voter.

"I am pleased to have Rep. Patterson representing this region," says Tucson Mayor Bob Walkup (R).

"As a former Democratic State Senator in Arizona, and as a long-time political talk show host on Tucson radio, I endorse Daniel Patterson for the Arizona House of Representatives. Mr. Patterson has the commitment, knowledge and ability to be a great lawmaker," says John C. Scott. "...Daniel Patterson stands out as a qualified leader. I ask you to join me in my support for Daniel Patterson for the State House in district 29."
